One of the biggest trends we have in today’s society is that most people seem to be absolutely addicted to soda drinks, like Coca Cola, Pepsi, 7Up, Fanta just to name a few. My sister and my boyfriend are amongst those people. My boyfriend absolutely NEEDS a glass of fresh Coca Cola after a long work out or being 4 hours on his road bike. So he thinks (of course I am his girlfriend to argue him over this).

For me it tastes really sweet as I really don’t have a lot of sugar in my diet (almost no processed foods, almost no candy bars etc) I do have to admit: Once a while in a blue moon, I take a few sips myself. But then I was thinking: What is it that I, and other people like about these drinks? I am sure they don’t like the sugar, or the artificial flavors really when they know what it does to your body. What is it then?

I noticed I just like the ” crisp and freshness” and my boyfriend as well. “Old” Coke does not taste as good. I also like the bubbles, the fizz. So aren’t there any soda drinks that are maybe good for you that gives your mind and body the same rush? Then I found 2 drinks in Europe and USA: Bionade in Europe, and Synergy’s kombucha tea, both achieved by fermentation, that I love, that taste sweet with a fizz, and that say they could even be good for you at the same time!

From each of their websites I found the following:

BIonade Drinks

“The unique non-alcoholic refreshment drink.
Produced from natural raw materials of organic quality
through fermentation in a purely organic way.
BIONADE refreshes in a special way. Delicately tart and fruity,
with the special note of a fermented drink.
Whether as Elderberry, Lychee, Herbs or Ginger-Orange.

BIONADE. A refreshing change.”

Bionade is herb based organic drink with their own patent, based in Germany.

Synergy Kombucha Tea

Some call it a tea, some call it an elixir, but no matter what you call it, Kombucha is a miracle, and it’s been used around the world for centuries to help promote health and wellness”

Synergy is an organic and raw kombucha tea.

Maybe try them out when you stumble upon them? You might be just as surprised as me about the taste! Let us know what you think!
