If 3 years ago someone came to me and said that I would be making lavender tea and drying orange peels on my kitchen counter, I would say “not me!”

And here I am, 3 years later drinking tea with dried orange peels that were left from my morning juice, mixing it with local Lavender Flowers.

By the way, this tea is by far my new favorite! And the healing power of lavender and orange peels is known by a lot of people:

Lavender is a very special herbal infusion, which has calming effects that helps relieve stress, fatigue, headache and insomnia. Drinking a cup of lavender tea before going to bed is known to promote restful sleep;

And Orange Peel is a digestive aid (thanks to pectin, that has probiotic properties). It is used for abdominal bloating, nausea and poor appetite. A class of compounds found in orange peels – polymethoxylated flavones – have the potential to lower cholesterol more effectively than some prescription drugs, and without side effects.

“LavAnge tea” : lavender + orange peel

  • 1 tea spoon of dried lavender flower
  • 2 tea spoons of orange peels

Pour hot water over, let it sit for 5 minutes and enjoy!
