It sounds gross maybe, but it is actually really good for the environment: Peeing while taking a shower! This way you save water.

Pee in the shower

Instead of going to the toilet separately, you pee in the shower!

A family can save about 4380 liters of water a year by not flushing the toilet. So it is not only good for the environment, it also saves you money.

Especially when you shower in the morning, it is healthy to pee. Because morning urine is sterile, and therefore cleansing your feet. A Grandmother’s Tip says it protects your feet from nasty problems, like smelly feet or infections. It also makes your feet feel softer. And the pee goes straight into the same gutter as it would when flushing the toilet.

Even a Brazilian Environmental organization SOS Mata Atlantica had a campaign in 2009 to promote peeing while showering for environmental reasons.

Anything to save the environment right?!

p.s. Just make sure you disinfect the shower after peeing!

Love, Lonneke
