Lonneke at Savages premiere

coconut oil for my skin!

I am obsessed with coconut oil!

New OYL contributor , top model Teresa Lourenco told me about it. So I bought a jar, and started using it all over my body. Not only did it smell great, my skin started glowing! There are different kinds of coconut oils. Some you can also use for cooking. Read labels for what you can use the coconut oil for before buying it.

I got the organic coconut oil from Spectrum.

I am sure Teresa Lourenco will tell you all about the health benefits of Coconut oil soon, and why she loves it!

I used it when I went to the premiere of the movie Savages last week. My skin was glowing!

By the way, that movie by Oliver Stone is not so kosher to put it that way, and if you have a weak stomach please think twice before watching this movie! It is a movie about drugs and weed in USA and Mexico… how you can get entangled into a world you don’t want to be in… There was also some great acting and even though blood flowed a lot, watching Benicio del Toro and Salma Hayek act great, was worth it. Other actors in this movie: John Travolta and Blake Lively and 2 other cute actors.

Do you also use it on your face? I tried it a few times but it doesn’t soak in at all, so I can hardly put any clothes let alone make-up over it

I put it on my face too and wipe it off. I heard from Valentina that it could clog pores but for me it works so far! XLonneke

I agree coconut oli is great for your skin! It feels so soft and moist :) I also use it for my hair. Just put a generous amount of coconut oil 1h before shower or leave it for the whole night and then wash it off in the morning.

I’ve been using coconut oil as a moisturizer for the past 5 years and absolutely love it! My skin improved dramatically, and knowing that its completely pure without chemicals is the best. You have to be careful not to get the oil on your clothes, I usually apply the oil, wait about 5-10 minutes and then wipe off any excess with a towel. For some coconut oil can clog pores, I tried it and it gave me very bad clogged pores after a few days..Found that argan oil works so much better!
Some benefits of coconut oil are that it is high in antioxidants that penetrate into the underlying tissues of your skin to prevent and protect against the formation of free radicals (which break down your skin’s connectives tissues as you age).Coconut oil will also soften and moisturize your skin, as well as help to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells making your skin smoother and more evenly textured with a healthy “shine”. The fat in the oil helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles without any irritation. Coconut oil can also help with skin problems like psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin conditions.

Hello! I got a coconut oil organic recently but i really have no clue how to use it!
Should i just apply it with my fingers in all my face/hair, and just wash it afterwards?

Thank you for this website, its great!
    Love Gaby.

Hi Gaby! Using coconut oil is really easy. I put a bit on a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face. I then dab with a tissue after a minute to remove excess oil. I love to just massage it onto my arms and legs. It really helps dry spots! I don’t use it on my hair because I get oily hair, but it can definitely help when you have split ends. Also, organic food grade coconut oil is great for cooking! I use it all the time! :) Love, Lonneke
