Raw Truffle Gazpacho Recipe

Hey everyone! I would like to share this recipe to this super easy nutritious gazpacho that I really enjoy making. Its not the typical ingredients of a gazpacho. I always add hemp seeds to most of my meals for extra protein. Truffle oil is one of my favorites oils to enhance the flavor of food. I am also obsessed with cilantro so I add it to most of the food that I eat.

Ingredients
  • 2 -3 Organic Tomato's
  • 1 clove of an organic garlic
  • a half of a bell pepper
  • half of an organic lemon
  • a few organic basil leaves
  • a few cilantro leaves
  • 2 table spoons of hemp seeds
  • 2 table spoons Of white truffle oil
  • a tea spoon of white truffle sea salt

Instructions
  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend for a minute and the gazpacho is ready to serve.
  2. To add a few finishing touches just add a few cilantro and basil leaves.

  • 1 organic frozen banana
  • A few ice cubes
  • 1 table spoon of Maca powder
  • 1 table spoon of raw chocolate nibs
  • 1 table spoon of chocolate sun warrior protein powder
  • Vanilla bean
  • 1 table spoon of organic agave
  • 1 cup of hemp milk

Instructions
  1. Blend all ingredients and the shake is done.

Butternut Squash Risotto

Lonneke asked me to start writing about family meals. So, here is a dish that my family really loves!

Of course I will still post a few of my raw dishes that my family enjoys as well. All though I am a raw foodie, my family eats vegetarian cooked meals. I do taste the food whenever I prepare it. My daughter is a vegetarian so I cook a lot of grains, beans and vegetables for her. Today I am going to give you my Butternut Squash Risotto Recipe.

I don't really ever measure anything. I just go with my feeling with how much of an ingredient I need for the meal.

My Butternut Squash Risotto Recipe

Butternut Squash Risotto
A great variety of the famous risotto.

Ingredients
  • A half of an organic butternut squash
  • Organic scallions
  • 1 Table spoon of organic vegetable bouillon
  • 1 Tablespoon of organic Coconut oil
  • 1 organic garlic clove
  • 1 Table spoon of organic pumpkin seeds
  • 2 Cups organic brown rice

Instructions
  1. Bring a pot of water to boil then add all ingredients to the boiling water.
  2. Cover the pot and boil for 40 minutes till everything has simmered down.
  3. That's how easy it is to make a pumpkin risotto.
  4. To top it of you can add a table spoon of butternut squash oil.

Raw chocolate, maca coconut shake

Hey Guys here is a simple recipe for a raw chocolate shake.
This shake is packed with antioxidants, protein, essential fatty acids and minerals.

Raw cocoa nibs are packed with essential minerals and vitamins, including magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium and vitamin C.  To top it off its very high in fiber.

Maca powder is known to  balance your hormones. It has been used  to increase stamina, boost libido and combat fatigue. Maca is a nutrient-dense whole food full of vitamins, essential minerals, fatty amino acids.

To make this shake all you need is a young coconut, raw cacao nibs, maca and a banana.

Blend the coconut flesh, coconut water, banana, 1 or 2 table spoons of cacao nibes, 1 table spoon of Maca powder as an option to sweeten add agave .
Being  healthy can be so easy.

My healthy raw food traveling supplies

Hi everyone,

Since I am a raw foodie people always ask me what I do when I am away from home.

So I wanted to share with everyone my traveling food essentials.
Whenever I leave for a job or even go on vacation I make sure I buy a few hard and ripe avocado's and ripe and unripe fruits. The reason why I say both ripe and unripe is because depending on how long I am away the ripe fruits and avocados I will eat the first few days and the unripe fruits will get a chance to ripen towards the end of my trip.
I always pack my raw food protein powder and a super green powder to make a quick and easy shake while I am away. Usually I mix the 2 powders with fresh coconut water . I prefer fresh coconut water but when I am away its not always easy to find,  So I  just buy the packaged coconut water. I travel with a super green powder just in case I can't get my hands on a green juice.

Now a days you have many options on green super raw food powders that you can buy at any health food stores. At the moment I am using "amazing grass green superfood"  and "sun warrior vanilla protein powder" Of course whenever I arrive at my destination I google health food stores and vegan restaurants to stock up on raw goodies. My last trip to Key West I got lucky and found an amazing health food store with a little cafe that served a lot of raw food,  green juices and smoothie's.

So I ate there every day and got all my raw snacks and fruit.
But these few items that I always take with me get me by in case I have no healthy options. I hope this is somewhat helpful for whenever you guys are traveling.

Raw Green Coconut shake

As a raw foodie I live of coconuts, spinach and kale so here is one of my favorite shakes that I have every day.

To make this shake you need a full coconut, a handful of kale without the stems and a hand full of spinach and a banana.(As an option you can add a table spoon or 2 of hemp seeds for added protein or sun warrior raw protein powder) I usually add protein powder after a work out to the smoothie.

To make the shake crack  the coconut  and take out the coconut water and flesh . Put it into the blender with one banana, spinach and kale and bend till smooth and creamy.

This takes about 10 min to do .

This is what I have for breakfast almost every day or after a workout. I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do:)


Hemp seeds

Hemp seeds is one of my main protein sources. I pretty much include it into everythig that I eat . You can add it into most of your meals as a protein boost. I use it in my smoothies , sprinkle it on salads, add it to my raw granola and I also make hemp milk with the seeds . I include it to most of my daughters meals as well.

Hemp is a high protein seed containing all nine of the essential amino acids (like flax). It also has high amounts of fatty acids and fiber as well as containing vitamin E and trace minerals. It has a balanced ratio of omega 3 to 6 fats at around a three to one ratio. This won’t help correct your omega balance if it’s off, but it gives you the right balance to start with.

Hemp contains:

* All 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential amino acids (EAAs) our bodies cannot produce.
* A high protein percentage of the simple proteins that strengthen immunity and fend off toxins.
* Eating hemp seeds in any form could aid, if not heal, people suffering from immune deficiency diseases. This conclusion is supported by the fact that hemp seed has been used to treat nutritional deficiencies brought on by tuberculosis, a severe nutrition blocking disease that causes the body to waste away.3
* Nature’s highest botanical source of essential fatty acid, with more essential fatty acid than flax or any other nut or seed oil.
* A perfect 3:1 ratio of Omega-6 Linoleic Acid and Omega-3 Linolenic Acid – for cardiovascular health and general strengthening of the immune system.
* A superior vegetarian source of protein considered easily digestible.
* A rich source of phytonutrients, the disease-protective element of plants with benefits protecting your immunity, bloodstream, tissues, cells, skin, organs and mitochondria.
* The richest known source of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids.


green juice

Green Spice Juice

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post as an OYL contributor!

First up: I love having a green juice a day.

Once a week I go to the market and stock up on whatever greens and fruits I can get . For me its very important to get in as many greens as possible. Every day I make green juice for the day. I use the Breville juice fountain Elite juicer to make the juice.

This green Juice I call Green Spice because it has ginger and cilantro in it.

To make it I use:

  • kale
  • collard greens
  • Fennel
  • cilantro
  • cucumber
  • ginger
  • celery
  • lemon
  • about 3 apples
