Green fashion Competition Launch
Friday was the launch of the Green Fashion Competition
After speeches of Henk de Jong of the Dutch ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) and Lonneke Engel as an ambassador of the competition and member of the jury, the competition was officially launched.
Everybody can join the competition!
In the first round 40 contestants/teams are selected. Then all contestants are invited to participate in two workshops (themes are creation and business) that will support their submissions for the competition.
Then the participants are required to submit a business plan and two designs
The business plan for The Green Fashion Competition must explain what your idea for a business venture is, how it contributes to sustaining biodiversity and how you aim to implement it.
The designs must represent your signature look and business plan and can consist of sketches, patterns, drawings, photos, samples etc.
Next round 8 contestants/teams are rewarded with a cash prize to be used for fabrication and production of the outfits. Those 8 contestants are to deliver their adapted business plan and fully fabricated designs
Then the final step is a fashion show during fashion week in which your designs will be shown during the 14th edition of Amsterdam International Fashion Week (24-31 January 2011).
Then the winners will be announced and a first prize of €25.000 and second prize of €15.000 will be awarded for the most promising fashion entrepreneurs.
I hope this competition will be a great success! And contributes to more awareness in the fashion industry.
Hopefully soon all shows during fashion week are green!
