MSM is one and only supplement that I’m taking daily for the past 3 years. MSM (Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane) is a naturally-occurring form of sulfur found in fresh raw foods that are involved in the cycle of rain. MSM is missing in foods grown in greenhouses (you know those “greenhouse” cucumbers that you see sometimes in supermarkets! Avoid those Cucumbers and veggies!). MSM is destroyed by cooking. In the body, MSM softens internal tissues by rebuilding connective tissue with elastic sulfur bonds. This is how MSM lives up to its reputation of building collagen and maintaining healthy joints. This is also why MSM increases flexibility (good for yoga, pilates) and is excellent for recovery from athletic injuries or after intense work out session.
MSM
MSM helps to build collagen, which helps to create smooth skin, thick healthy hair, and strong nails (the main reason I take MSM every day). MSM has a remarkable effect at neutralizing foreign proteins (i.e. allergens, toxins, undigested food) making it anti-inflammatory. It helps your body to remove toxins faster. MSM works to enhance beauty and restore vitality to our skin and joints. MSM works particularly well in combination with vitamin-C rich foods. Every morning I start with a glass of pure water, 1 teaspoon of MSM and I sqeez fresh lemon.
LOVE, VAL

After doing research on MSM powder,I’ve found numerous claims of insomnia and nightmares,so perhaps there should be a warning or a note with this.I wouldn’t be having this every day…be careful.
Hi, thank you for your comment. I have researched about MSM as well and there is no evidence of over dosing on MSM. Been taking it forever, I’ve no nightmares or anything like that.. My skin looks healthy, my hair grows really fast and thick. If you are beginner, start with a 1/4 of teaspoon slowly going up to 1 teaspoon. Xx
Thanks Val,I don’t really have any need to take it.Juicing and raw foods give me beautiful skin, plus vitamin E every day.I always appreciate all the supplements, recipes, and tips you give and look forward to your next one!
Hi Val! Can you tell me where to buy this supplement in New York? I am coming to there next week and would love to pick some up
LOVE this tip Val!!! Soo good! xxx Abigail
hello valentina, thanks again for such an interesting article! i have two questions; in what time span should you increase the intake ? and some off-topic thing… ive recently red about your eating habits and you stated that you dont eat any (or hardly ever) soy products. is there a specific reason for it or do you just not like the taste ? im consuming quite a few soy products (milk, joghurt, edamame) and i was just wondering whether too much might be bad for health, since it is supposed to be an (artificial) ingredient of too many foods nowadays anyway. xx
hi!!! After about 1 month of taking 1/4 of tea spoon MSM, I increased it to 1 tea spoon.
Regarding soy products, I’m not a fan. I stay away from soy because it messes up with hormones, it is GMO, deficient in vitamin D, B1 and B12, cause thyroid problems, its proven to cause infertility in animals etc…
I do eat edamame at Japanese places, I think it is OK to enjoy it once in awhile.
xx
I still think it ironic and funny that people feel they need to take a supplement or a pill for better skin. It’s all about what exactly you are consuming, from the food, your exercise, your thoughts, the air, your breath, your whole consciousness.Try eating all raw, drinking a lot of water, putting fresh alive vera on your face, exfoliating with a dry facial brush, using pure water, honey mask…those are all very cheap and you don’t “need” anything to let your true beauty shine.
hi, Nicole! you can find it at WholeFoods, healthy grocery store and Vitamins Shops. Make sure to get in powder, not the capsules. Also, start with a small dose and then increase it to 1 teaspoon. xx
