I cook in varying degrees, if you like, of healthiness!…Depending on whom I’m cooking for. This is a recipe I enjoy for myself, although my family who are not as raw conscious as I am, much prefer chocolate pancakes…
I know Organice Your Life readers are quite raw food minded, & I’m sure you’ll enjoy this crunchy chocolaty breakfast treat.
3 cups raw buckwheat, soaked
½ cup desiccated coconut
½ cup coconut sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla powder
2 tablespoons rice bran or coconut oil
2 tablespoons raw agave or maple syrup
¾ cup organic cocoa
To soak buckwheat: rinse raw buckwheat in a large sprouting jar with guaze lid 3 times filling with water & draining off. Fill jar with fresh water & soak buckwheat for 3 hours. Strain & rinse turning jar upside down to drain. Leave 12 hours, rinse again, drain. The buckwheat is ready to use.
Mix everything together in a large bowl. Spread out buckwheaties on dehydrator sheets or on trays to dry in the oven at 40’C for 6 – 8 hours. When cereal is completely dry & store in a nice jar ready to eat with Supergorgeous Almond Milk (page ) or layered with natural yogurt & fresh berries, or even to snack as is! Yum! :)
½ hour preparation time in total. Up to 8 hours drying time. Makes about 5 cups.
