About Joey

Joey Holthaus (1979) creates original illustrations for more than 2 decades, inspired by Icons from the Music, Fashion and Film world.

From idea, concept to the final design; everything is filled with a lot of passion and enthusiasm in detail. By his empathy, imagination and experience he is able to step outside his own box; he can translate what someone else has in mind.

His life motto “Regret is a waste of time” has many special moments and encounters with him, and he has therefore in January 2011 “established” Atelier Joey Holthaus.

After studying Fashion Design in Arnhem (ArtEZ) he worked as a singer in a Dutch boyband All OF Us, seller, coach and trainer, but from 2011 he really follows his heart as an illustrator and photographer. He makes (fashion) illustrations for calendars, magazines, books, cards, websites, posters, baby clothing, t-shirts and bags. His first calendar was an honor to astrology, woman and big hair.

In addition, he shoots a lot of behind the scenes at different creative projects, such as video clips, fashion shoots and large celebrations. In his work “Behind The Scenes” is much to see, and he tries to capture humor and happiness in every shot. Combined with the right composition each photo is a work of art in itself.

Joey lives in the Centre of Arnhem, along with his husband Mark.
