Many of you will already be up on the know of how damaging heated oils are to your health. Roasted nuts & seeds are so tasty & morish but also high in heated oils even when they’re dry roasted. Here’s a simple snack you can make which will satisfy your body’s true need ~ FOR NUTRIENTS. Perfect along with a few carrot sticks in the handbag, they are high in protein too! This is how I prefer to eat my pumpkin seeds. My family do like theirs roasted & I make a three seed mix for them (roasted!) I prefer the recipe ‘activated‘ which means they’ve become a living food & ready to GROW! Activated foods are much easier to digest, more alkalising to the body & even richer in vitamins & minerals :)
Organic soaked pepitas, drained
Celtic salt (opt)
Cayenne pepper (I like lots!)
Add seasonings to *soaked drained pepitas, to taste. Dehydrate overnight in a dehydrator or very slow oven (say 40’C). Store in a jar ready for snacking or packing! MMM! I also love these sprinkled over salads, steamed garlic broccoli with my seed cheese for a quick, light, nutritious meal.
*To soak any amount, double the measure of pepitas with water & leave 3 hours at room temperature
